Features: Wylam Institute with its adjoining garden offers an ideal venue for wedding receptions (just two minutes walk from St Oswin’s church) and large parties, as well as catering for smaller meetings and fundraising events. This magnificent stone building lives in the 21st century although she is a grand old lady built in the Victorian era.
Two large halls comprise the major spaces – the downstairs hall seats 100 people at round tables or 120 at trestles, maximum capacity 150. This room also has folding doors and can be divided.
The upstairs hall has a stage and seats 120. Both halls measure approximately 15m x 8m. The building also has two smaller rooms with a capacity of 25 people, one of which has a small kitchen and the other has 6 PCs with internet access.

Facilities: Licences to sell alcohol are available.
12 4-foot and 10 5-foot tables and 150 chairs are available (at no extra cost).
Good disabled access to the building and all the rooms via a ramp and lift and an all purpose toilet.
Fully equiped kitchen and enough crockery for meetings and small coffee mornings (with 70 extra place settings and china available for hire.
Comfortable toilets.

Charges:

  • Hire of the whole building is £33 an hour – set up charges are negotiable.
  • Basic hire of the upstairs large hall: £12 per hour.
  • Downstairs hall: £13 per hour.
  • Half the downstairs hall (seats 50): £10 per hour.
  • Smaller meetings rooms: £7 per hour.
  • Kitchen use: £10 for up to 50 people, £20 for over 20 people.
