Some features you may need to know

Restricted access
Some information on this site is restricted to members only, and requires a password to view it. If you have used this, you may find that subsequent accesses don’t ask for the password again. This is the result of the system saving a ‘cookie’, to retain the user’s password for a limited period, currently 10 days. If you are using a public machine to read such information, you should be aware of this.

Using the calendar
The website calendar can be used to advertise events that may be of interest to more than your own members. If you would like to advertise an event, please let me know by email to the administrator. The information needed is:

  • A title for the event
  • Location (e.g. Hall name)
  • Brief description
  • Date & time (hh:mm)

Welcome!

Welcome to the new website for the West Northumberland Community Buildings Consortium (referred to as the Consortium from now on)!

We currently represent 58 village halls and community buildings across the West Northumberland area. All community buildings, village halls, Scout huts, and others are welcome to join, so long as they are operated for charitable purposes. The membership fee is only £10 per annum. We are sure that you will find this excellent value for money and look forward to hearing from you.

Visit the hall directory to view the facilities and services our members provide for the community, learn about the benefits that the Consortium can deliver to members, and see the dates of future events on the calendar page. Learn how to provide material to be published in the Help section.

You should note that the content (and occasionally the appearance) of these pages will change as we add new information in the future.

The second AGM

The second Annual General Meeting of the Consortium will be held on Wednesday 20th October, at Stocksfield Institute Community Association. The Agenda and Annual Report are available as PDF documents:

Using the new website

We hope that you will find the layout and organisation of this new site clear. Links to other pages will display a red underline as they are selected; here is an example (linked to the front page). The title displayed in the banner at the top of each page will always get you back to the “Home″ page.

Take some time to explore the various sections; the left column provides links to much permanent information, while the right-hand column gives access to recent Newsletters,  the Calendar of events, a Search form and Links to other relevant organisations.

In many cases, more lengthy documents are presented as PDF (“Portable Document Format”) files, which retain the format of the original document, and which can be read on a wide range of systems. However you may need additional software (such as Adobe Reader) to display them within a browser program.

If there is anything that you think could be improved, please let us know. You can do this by adding a comment below (which will be visible to all users), or by sending an email to the site administrator, Michael Elphick.
