COVID Restrictions Extended to 19th July 2021

As you will all already know, yesterday’s Government announcement confirmed the extension of the relaxation date of all restrictions from 21st June to 19th July, as a result of the Delta variant of COVID.  Hopefully, the extra month will mean that a huge drive on the vaccination programme can take place, which will make things much safer for everyone.

For businesses and halls who have been gearing up to re-open on the 21st June, this is a decided setback – but one in which we have very little choice.  There is talk of some additional financial help packages for businesses, but whether these materialise and what form they are likely to take is, as yet, unclear.

As far as we are aware, the current rules (i.e. the ‘group of 6’ rules) are likely to remain in place with very little, if any, alteration – other than the possible relaxation of rules surrounding weddings and funerals.  However, if anything changes, we will let our members know immediately.

In the meantime, it is worth keeping an eye on the ACRE website as they will be updating their Re-opening Village and Community Halls Information Sheet as soon as they have had the chance to interpret any changes and updates to legislation.
